What is the issue?
According to the office of national statistics young people 16- 24 are most at risk of unwanted and unplanned pregnancies and contracting an STI. Conception rates of young people aged under 18 have fallen over the last 10 years but the figures are still too high.
A Different Option
You do not need to be part of the statistics, it does not have to happen to you.
How?
Take responsibility for your sexual health. Make decisions and choices before it’s too late. It’s your life - live it. You can be different.
Sex Is Good
With the right person, in the right environment, place and time, sex can be enjoyed. Outside of that, it can be a risk to life itself. The more partners you have the more at risk you are - fact. It’s just the way it is. Don’t give yourself away too easily. It’s ok not to have sex and wait until you are ready and feel comfortable enough to make such decisions. Your life is worth more than just taking a gamble and thinking it won’t happen to you - it might.
The World Health Organisation states:
"The most effective means to avoid becoming infected with or transmitting a sexually transmitted infection is to abstain from sexual intercourse (i.e., oral, vaginal, or anal sex) or to have sexual intercourse only within a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner. "
Teenage Choices believes this is the best option for all.
Our Approach
Teenage Choices is committed to encouraging young people to make wise informed choices regarding their sexual health and behaviour.
We believe in empowering young people and enabling them to reach their full potential.
With interactive sessions based on decision making, looking at how we make decisions and what influences that process, Teenage Choices looks at the area of sex and relationship education from a different angle. We hope that young people make good, fundamental decisions, before embarking on any sexual activity. |
