Because pregnancy isn't always good news
Choices provide a confidential and caring environment for young people, women and their partners to talk through their concerns about an unplanned or difficult pregnancy without the fear of being judged or pressurized into making a hasty decision. Clients come via G.P.s, social services family planning, and voluntary agencies; or simply call us for help.
Care and practical help is offered to clients, whatever their decision. Where necessary, referrals are made to other agencies. Counsellors will accompany clients to any medical appointments if asked. Advice is also available with regard to accomodation and benefits, as well as befriending visits.
The centres are staffed by teams of trained volunteer counsellors who receive on-going training and supervision and adhere to a recognised code of ethics and conduct.
Our FREE counselling service is non-directive, and provides a sympathetic ear, emotional support and information about the implications of continuing or terminating a pregnancy - to help each client form their own opinion and to make an informed choice. |
